Consultation
DESCRIPTION
Founded in 1895 and believed to be one of, if not THE oldest private clubs in the Midwest. LGCC rests along the its namesake waters - a beautiful, gently rolling, pastoral site with some amazing views of the lake. The course was originally designed by Scotsman, Robert Foulis. To say the course is distinctive would be an understatement. The holes are full of odd, quirky design elements - geometric shapes, strangely contrived forms and flavorful nuances that have been recently touched up by architect David Esler. The hole arrangement promotes "fun" through its variety, which serves its seasonal "family getaway club" label so very effectively.
From an architectural perspective, its hard not to be intrigued with this place. It's a gem in the rough!
