The presence of Donald Ross can still be felt today in Chicago (among many other locales), 150 years after his birth. This p[rofile by Chicago Dsitrict Golfer, headed by Tim Cronin, sheds some light on Ross' presence and notable works in the Chicagoland area. Cronin touches on the unique collaboration Ross shared with H.S. Colt back in 2013 at Old Elm Club, a course that JDR has had the pleasure of reinstating along with superintendent Curtis James and fellow architect Dave Zinkand.
Though not mentioned in this placement, JDR is also involved in several other Ross efforts around Chicago, including LaGrange Country Club, Lake Shore Country Club in Glencoe and also at nearby Kenosha Country Club in Wisconsin - a Ross layout whose key features have hardly been touched in over 100 years.
