On-going Planning & Development of a Program for Golf Course Improvements
DESCRIPTION
Moorings Golf and Country Club is located in the heart of Old Naples within an established residential neighborhood known as Moorings/Coquina Sands, only about 1,000 feet from Moorings Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. The private club was established in 1962 on a smallish plot, only on about 38 acres and is still only one of two golf courses within the city limits of Naples. The course was essentially a one-hit wonder laid out by a gentleman by the name of Milton Link. Mr. Link's 18-hole arrangement is made up of nine par-4's and 9 par-3's as smaller footprints having a total par of 63. Members here love the shorter hole presentations and the fact that they can enjoy a full round of golf in about three hours! Bottom line: golfers here have fun - and that is the driving focus for our work: to enhance the fun factor while upgrading the course's infrastructure and visual identity.
