Today we are akin to seeing somewhat fewer new courses developed or opened for play than in any other time in the past 75 years — the ’90’s were an exceptionally unique time for golf development and it’s doubtful we’ll ever see another time like that again. Some exceptions were encountered in Asian locations for a stretch of time as well as a now-growing number of new uber-private and/or remote destination golf experiences. Among those new courses that are developed, there may be any of a number of development types, including stand alone facilities (public or private), residential golf communities, resort courses, affordable daily fee courses, private/personal courses, executive or non-traditional golf facilities, and a few others in both domestic and international locales. They all require a collaborative team effort, capable backing and tremendous, collective vision. See examples below where JDR has played a leading role in a number of new course opportunities.
